NY Proposes Emissions Rules for Pizzerias…

If you weren’t aware, the political left has it in their heads that restricting our way of life in a bunch of little ways will somehow affect the climate for the better and save the planet from what they say is imminent destruction. One New York proposal exemplifies just how ridiculous it all is.

New York, as a liberal stronghold and home to the Green New Deal’s creator, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has just made a proposal that would supposedly limit the amount of coal and wood burning emissions the city has. But the rule doesn’t just go after everyone.

Instead, it’s aimed at the city’s pizzerias.

According to the New York Post, New York City’s Department of Environmental Protection has issued new rules requiring all pizzerias with coal and wood-burning fired ovens to obtain emission control devices.

As you can imagine, the devices are not exactly cheap. In fact, they are so costly that they are practically out of the question for many smaller restaurants and pizzerias. But if the rule goes into place, it’s not like they will have a choice.

Now, if that isn’t bad enough, just wait.

According to the Post, not all that many pizzerias would be affected. In fact, fewer than 100 would have to acquire and install those pricey emissions regulators.

This might sound like good news, but it really only makes this all the more ridiculous.

What it means is that the woke leaders of NYC believe that forcing a mere 100 already struggling small business owners to buy pricey pieces of machinery is going to change the entire climate for the better…

Yeah, that’s not likely.

Naturally, more than a few in the pizza business are not too happy about the proposal.

Dave Portnoy, founder of the conservative Barstool Sports and a national pizza connoisseur and reviewer, is one such individual.

He made sure to blast the “little liberal arts, Ivy League, pink-haired, crazy liberal” responsible for the rule in an expletive-filled rant on his Twitter account.

He also posted a version of Patrick Henry’s “Give us Liberty or give us Death,” replacing the word liberty with pizza.
