Nicolas Cage is always known for his unique wit and personality. Many claim that the Hollywood star is a legend. He’s most certainly a pop culture icon.

Now enter Susan Michals. She’s the ultimate cat lady and founded CatCon, a two-day event that happens every year focused on being a cat-centric, pop culture event.

Cage references his cats in a number of interviews. And when he was promoting his movie “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,” he talked of Merlin, his adopted cat, being his best friend.

That’s what gave Michals an idea. She told Yahoo Entertainment that “You never know what to expect with Nicolas Cage.” She believes cats, too, are completely unpredictable.

She wanted to honor Nicolas Cage and his love of cats…and the way that he does whatever he wants, just like cats.

Michals curates at the Cat Art Show, and she decided to reach out to some of the artists to create something unique.

The result is an art show that is aptly named “Uncaged: The Unbearable Weight of Genius Cat Art.” It will debut at CatCon, which will take place October 1 and 2 at the Pasadena Convention Center in California.

Seven pieces of art will be on sale, with prices ranging from $300 to $5,000.

As for the tickets to CatCon, one dollar from every ticket will go to three cat charities. Since CatCon started, it has already donated over $300,000 to charities.

Michals hasn’t reached out to Cage yet to see if he’ll attend, but here’s hoping he does. Michals said, “I’ve got my fingers crossed.”
