Iconic star Madonna recently lost her brother who was 66 years old. She has finally shared her thoughts about her sibling on social media.

Madonna shared a black-and-white throwback picture to her Instagram story on Feb. 27. With the pic, she shared some memories of her late brother, Anthony Ciccone.

“Thank you for blowing my mind as a young girl,” she wrote in the caption and then proceeded to list the things he had taught her about: Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Buddhism, Taoism, Charles Bukowski, Richard Brautigan, Jack Kerouac, and expansive thinking.

This was the first time the legendary pop star, Madonna Louise Ciccone, gave comments on her late brother’s death.

She went further saying that Anthony planted many important seeds, and she ended the heartfelt post with a red heart emoji.

The throwback photo seems as though it was taken in the 1980s and it shows the whole Ciccone family. Of course, Anthony Ciccone is present, but there is also Madonna and her old brother, Martin. The picture also shows three younger siblings: Paula, Christopher, and Melanie.

Madonna did not announce her brother’s death, it was Joe Henry, who is her brother-in-law and married to her sister Melanie Ciccone. The announcement came on Saturday through Instagram.

“My brother-in-law, Anthony Gerard Ciccone, exited this earthly plane last evening,” he wrote in the caption. He then wrote that his late brother had been a “complex character” and they’d “tangled in moments.”

Henry also said that he loved Anthony and he understood him better than he sometimes let on. He wrote that trouble fades and family remains — “with hands reached across the table.”

Madonna’s Instagram account liked Henry’s post. There has not been an official confirmation of Joe Henry’s death yet, and Madonna’s team has not responded to a request for comment.
