Remember the story of Noah in the Bible? Well, science may have just proved how that actually happened and more. It’s a story that Joe Rogan says is keeping him up at night.

Rogan discovered the story on Instagram one night and said it took down a deep “rabbit hole” that kept him up all night.

As you might remember, the Biblical story says that the great flood happened in the 600th year of “Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.”

What resulted was a flood that covered even the highest mountains of the Earth and destroyed nearly all life on the planet – save those Noah had been instructed to put aboard his ark.

Now, we know that the “windows of heaven” being opened refers to rain. What are the “fountains of the deep?”

Well, according to a 2014 scientific discovery, about 400 miles under the Earth’s surface lies a massive body of water – potentially holding three times as much water as lies on our planet’s surface.

A report from Unilad noted that the water is believed to be trapped inside a strata of the Earth’s crust known as “ringwoodite” rock. According to Northwestern University geophysicist Steve Jacobson, this ringwoodite is rather spongelike, able to soak up and hold water.

At the right depth of the deep mantle, conditions make it likely for it to hold near unimaginable amounts of water.

Jacobson also noted that scientists have thought that something like this deep underground reservoir has existed for decades as known geological processes such as erupting volcanoes, earthquakes, etc., are usually an expression of what is happening inside the Earth. For years, scientists could only guess what that might be.

Now, thanks to this discovery, evidence of “a whole-Earth water cycle” finally exists.

But even more so, it explains several key passages found in the Bible, such as how the Earth could have so quickly flooded during Noah’s time.

Additionally, it explains other passages, such as Genesis 1:7, which states that “God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so.”

So much for science and the Bible being separate.
