White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is even more elusive than Jen Psaki. While Psaki would just become sarcastic when met with a question she didn’t like, Jean-Pierre becomes clueless and simply refuses to answer the question.
Often, Jean-Pierre seems unaware of half of what Biden has said over the past week.
Peter Doocy, a Fox News reporter, has repeatedly been known to play “stump the White House press secretary.” And he’s got an undefeated score at this point.
Recently, Doocy decided to ask about the high gas prices and how Biden announced that he’d be releasing more of the Strategic Petroleum Reserves.
Doocy asked how oil companies are going to lower gas prices when the administration is trying to put them out of business.
Jean-Pierre looked genuinely perplexed when she asked, “How is the administration trying to put them out of business?”
Anyone should be able to answer this question. Doocy decided to explain it to her, pointing to the fact that the Biden administration wants to end fossil fuel.
Jean-Pierre basically ignored those comments and continued on about how oil production will reach an all-time high in 2023. That, of course, is impossible. And she also failed to talk about the statements that have been made by Biden.
The Republican National Committee followed up those comments on Twitter with a video of Biden talking about putting a stop to fracking in the U.S. and ending fossil fuels.
Doocy also talked about how Biden said his top priority is to codify abortion rights while the White House said the top priority is to combat inflation.
Guess what? Jean-Pierre didn’t bother to answer that question, either.
The White House press secretary has one job — communicate what we need to know. yet, we don’t know anything because Biden speaks out of both sides of his mouth and Jean-Pierre refuses to answer questions from the press.
At least we can count on Doocy to point out the hypocrisy of it all.
