Elon Musk has officially bought Twitter and named himself as the sole board member. He’s running everything on his own – and no one is able to make sense of it. Democrats are swearing that they’ll never use the platform again while Republicans are cheering that their shadow bans are finally gone.
Ben Shapiro, a political commentator, was quick to note that he gained followers almost overnight thanks to some of the changes that have already been made.
AOC, however, has called Elon Musk out, especially as he announced that there will be a cost to become verified. And why does he want to do that? To eliminate the many bots that are running rampant on the platform.
At one point, the Democratic socialist went as far as calling Musk a “union buster with an ego problem.” This, of course, is from the woman who once accused Senator Ted Cruz of having a crush on her. And Musk is the one with the ego problem, sure.
Many Twitter employees left even before the purchase was complete. However, many more are likely to be fired. And Musk is already trying to figure out how not to pay millions in severance packages to top executives.
Reuters reported that “Elon Musk is being investigated by federal authorities over his conduct in his $44 billion takeover deal for Twitter.” Of course, like is common with most Democratic-led investigations, they don’t want to go into the real nature of the probes.
So, the question is: Is Elon Musk being investigated because Twitter can finally be the platform of free speech?
