With President Biden in office, the American people are getting used to him making the news for boneheaded decisions on a daily basis. From his inaction along the southern border to his refusal to take care of the needs of the American people, he just cannot seem to hit the mark.
When former President Trump was found to be in possession of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home, Biden celebrated and acted as if he had discovered something earth-shattering. Taking home documents, the President has deemed to be unclassified is allowable, and happens frequently. While copies go to the national archives, there is nothing that forbids them from keeping copies.
However, doing this as Vice President is illegal.
In the last month, President Biden has had classified documents from his days as VP found in multiple locations. January 20th, six more were found in his Wilmington, DE home. This brings the total to 25 documents between the Penn Biden Center and his home. While the latest trove was discovered by his personal attorneys, many are curious as to why they are the ones looking, and not federal authorities.
One of those attorneys Bob Bauer issued a statement on Jan 21st about the search. He claimed it began “at approximately 9:45 AM and concluded at around 10:30 PM and covered all working, living and storage spaces in the home.” He also made note that “representatives of both the personal legal team and the White House Counsel’s Office were present,” during the search.
White House Counsel’s Office also issued a statement about the search. “Neither the President nor the First Lady were present during the search. The President’s lawyers and White House Counsel’s Office will continue to cooperate with DOJ and the Special Counsel.”
Given the evidence, Biden and his personal attorneys have met multiple times with the DOJ, and reportedly they agreed to keep searches of his residences and other buildings quiet from the American people. Per the Washington Post, they not only agreed to keep this secretive but also lied about the second set of documents at his home when CBS asked about them.
As only a small group of White House and Justice Department officials knew about the documents, his administration has been scrambling to determine who leaked this and when. A scandal like this can not only derail a presidency, but it can also lend more evidence to an impeachment. So far, Biden has been handing the GOP more reasons to move than ever before, and it’s likely to only get worse.
Seeing how directly and strongly Biden and his cronies have tried going after Trump over classified documents, they now should have the integrity to go that hard after themselves. Yet in all likelihood, they will simply give themselves a pass just as they have in any other case. Meanwhile, they will continue to attack the GOP and conservatives. This kind of deflection only serves to divide the country even further than it already is.
The differences between the cases of Biden and Trump are insane. Both had possession of classified documents. Trump’s house was raided by the FBI with a SWAT team and machine guns. Biden basically opened the door for the DOJ to waltz in. Trump’s documents were unclassified by his hand. Biden make those documents unclassified as he was the Vice President. Trump’s documents were in a separate office and properly locked away as per instructions. Biden’s were next to his Corvette in a garage.
As Americans, it’s time to tell Biden and the rest of the liberals that enough is enough. The mind games, witch hunts, and bipartisan trash need to end. If his actions as VP were fine, then Trump’s as President should be commended. We the people don’t need this kind of infighting. We need leaders who have the best interests of Americans at heart.
