Democrats in Congress are calling for “Twitter Files” journalist Matt Taibbi to be thrown in prison for telling the American people the truth. The truth is that virtually every agency in the federal government actively colluded with the Democrat Party to censor Americans on social media companies to interfere in the 2020 election. So far there has not been a single prominent liberal Democrat who has spoken out about this – until now. Veteran Hollywood actor Tim Robbins has stuck his neck out for freedom of speech and freedom of the press.
Normally we wouldn’t waste much ink on anything that Tim Robbins says. He’s a committed leftist and no friend to conservatives. But Robbins is an old-school leftist and not a deranged lunatic communist like most prominent liberals and Democrats in Congress these days.
Robbins calls the revelations from the Twitter Files one of the most important stories related to our freedoms in America, yet it’s being completely ignored by most of the media. He specifically calls out Congressmen Jerrold Nadler and Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and Virgin Islands delegate Stacey Plaskett. Those are three of the loudest voices calling for Taibbi to be jailed for reporting the truth.
“Mainstream media have not only ignored the story but now attack the journalists, effectively serving as a thuggish censorship arm of the government,” wrote Robbins on Twitter. “What an embarrassing, shameful time for the Democrats and the ‘free’ press. You are losing any shred of credibility you had, you f***ing fools. Oh, and by the way #FreeAssange.”
We may not agree with the Academy Award-winning actor on much, but Tim Robbins is right about that. Congress has no right to call for a journalist to be jailed for reporting on a story—even if that story embarrasses a bunch of the hacks in DC. It’s about time some prominent liberals started speaking out against the dangerous and radical leaders of the Democrat Party.
